The earlier the better — but it's never too late. Ideally, players begin working with an advisor around U15 or U16, when the recruiting landscape starts to matter. That said, we've helped players at every stage, including late bloomers finding junior opportunities after U18. The key is having a clear plan before the window closes.

Most advisors focus only on the ice. We build complete players. That means game film review, weekly check-ins, off-ice habits, communication training for scouts and coaches, and a personalized long-term roadmap. Coach Hansen has sat on both sides of the table — as a D3 coach and as an NHL scout — so he knows exactly what decision-makers are looking for.

STAG players are spread across the country — California, Colorado, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland, and beyond. Most of our work is done remotely through weekly video calls, online film review, and digital communication with coaches and scouts. No matter where you are, geography is never a barrier to getting the right guidance.

Yes — and this is actually one of our specialties. The junior hockey landscape has many pathways that parents and players don't know exist. A player who didn't get recruited at 16 may still have a very real path to juniors or college at 18 or 19. We know those paths and how to navigate them.

Every player is different, but a typical week includes a check-in call with Coach Greg, game or practice film review with feedback, progress on their off-ice development plan, and ongoing communication about upcoming opportunities — camps, tryouts, showcases, or direct outreach to programs. It's a hands-on partnership, not a once-a-month check-in.

Absolutely. Having coached and recruited at the college level for 9 years, I have a strong understanding of what needs to be done academically to be eligible and attractive to college programs. Grades, test scores, transcripts, and eligibility timelines are all part of the conversation — we make sure nothing on the academic side catches your player off guard.
